Cais de Gaia

Yes! Cais de Gaia and the streets around the Flats have many places to have fun both during the day and night.

Cafes, restaurants and terraces make this place an important point of interest and is great to spend the evening.

You can have a drink on a terrace at the sun set and then choose a restaurant to dinner. Afterwards, take a walk, cross the D. Luíz bridge and go to a pub in Ribeira on Porto side of Douro. Or pick a taxi or a UBER and go to a club in Galerias de Paris street. Or go to a theater, a cinema, a concert, or to wherever you feel like.

Galerias de Paris

The Rua das Galerias de Paris (Paris Galleries Street, about 2500 mts far from the flats) was a commercial street where cloth stores were located during the last two centuries.

Now it has become one of Porto’s most important night spots. Along the street there are many bars and clubs, although locals prefer to grab a drink and get out and about, jumping from one place to another. The result is a crowded street, especially on weekends.

the oldest

Ribeira

Located in the historic center of Porto, Praça da Ribeira, next to the quay of the same name, 1500 meters far from the flats, is one of the oldest squares in the city, already mentioned in medieval documents.

The narrow winding streets overlooking Gaia, the shadowy arcades, typical houses with colorful facades of yesterday, its riverside urban architecture, surrounded by cafes, clubs, pubs and shops make this one of the city’s most lively areas.

Daytime and nightly animation and a cosmopolitan movement give Cais da Ribeira and the surrounding area a unique atmosphere of history, tradition, animation and beauty.

Throughout the city, all kinds of shows abound. Theaters where you can watch the latest plays. The Coliseum where pop/rock acts are displayed. Or the House of Music where you can attend concerts of classical music. And, of course, movie theaters if you feel like going to the movies.

That is not all. You have the Miguel Bombarda street, where the art galleries are located. And pubs, in Ribeira, where you can attend poetry declamation and live music performances.

And all the cultural activities that develop every day on the streets, squares, bars, terraces, monuments, museums, churches, everywhere in the city, for everybody to enjoy.
