The answer is Downtown Gaia, this amazing place around the flats. Its where you find the World of Wine and Cais de Gaia.
World of Wine (WOW) is the new cultural quarter located in the heart of the historic area of Gaia, which combines culture, gastronomy and history.
Cais de Gaia (Quay of Gaia) is an area by the Douro river, in front of Porto, where old docks, and dockyards, were located. There are still dockyards, where wooden ships are built, on the road to the town of Afurada. In Cais de Gaia you can choose a boat and book a cruise on Douro river. Or you can sit down and have a delicious diner by sunset. It’s awesome!

Night Life
Porto is surely the place to go for night life.
Most of the action takes place on the streets like Galeria de Paris around the Clérigos Tower, just to name my favorite spot. But you can go and have fun on Poveiros square. And there is also Ribeira, just in front of Cais de Gaia, on Porto side of Douro, about 1500 meters far from the flats.
Indeed you can have great fun everywhere in Porto and Gaia and surroundings.

Markets & Shops
Near the property, you can find grocery stores, bakeries, pastry shops, clothes shops and even a small fair. There are also many shopping centers in Porto area. All have a big supermarket inside.
In Porto, you can find all sorts of shops and markets. From the most affordable to the most expensive ones.
But you don’t really need to bankrupt to shop around and feel happy with the result.

Surroundings
Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and it is the center of one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Peninsula with a population of 2.3 million (2011). It is a coast city and so it has many beaches where you can surf, kitesurf, wander by the sea, swim or just relax.
Furthermore, you have castles (Vila da Feira), monasteries (Grijó), historical cities like Braga or Guimarães in a 50 kms radius from our flats.
In towns near, there are several golf courses, like Oporto Golf Club in Espinho, stadiums like FC Porto Dragon Stadium, Casinos like Espinho Solverde Casino.
And many other sites with interesting things to do or to see and experience. Take a day to visit one of them. And return to visit the others.
